Sokoto Govt Concludes Payment of Tuition Fees For Over 7000 Students

Sokoto state government have concluded payment of tuition fees for more than seven thousand indigene students of the state.

Chairman of the Screening committee ,Alhaji Nasiru Dantsoho stated this to newsmen during the exercise.

Alh.Nasiru Dantsoho said the move followed an action taken by the University to stop all Sokoto state students from writing examination after three years without paying for their tuition fees by the Sokoto state scholarship Board.

Alhaji Dantsoho explained that the state government formed a committee to speedy up the payment to enable the students sit for the exam.

The Chairman noted that the state government led by Governor Alhmad Aliyu had inherited about three years unpaid Scholarship payments which compelled the institute to reject students of Sokoto indigenes .

He said the payment covered all students from the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

He expressed satisfaction
that the state government has concluded the payment before the deadline given by the University stressing that this would enable the students to sit for their exam next week.

Some students interviewed by Radio Nigeria expressed their appreciation on the effort made by the state government to pay the tuition fees.
