OPHD Troops Rescue 40 Kidnapped Victims In Zamfara State

In the ongoing onslaught against the marauding bandits in Zamfara state of the northern part of Nigeria under a joint task force, Operation Hadarin Daji, troops have rescued another forty (40) kidnap victims in Bukkuyum Local government area of the state.

Our correspondent reports that on July 17, the troops who acted on intelligence report about armed bandits who kidnapped people from villages around Bukkuyum Local government area, swung into fighting patrol and engaged the bandits in a gun duel which lasted for several hours.

Our source said a distress call prompted the Troops and mobilized swiftly for a fighting patrol and established blocking positions around the Bandits withdrawal routes around Kyairu/Kyaram and Alkama villages in Bukuyyum LGA Zamfara state.

However, due to superior fighting power, the terrorists were forced to flee and abandon the kidnapped victims.

The rescued kidnapped victims numbering 40 dispersed and have since reunited with their families while 10 of the victims were handed over to the Sarkin Gwashi in order to connect the victims with their respective families.
