SENATE /SPECIAL COMMITTEES

The Senate in is today’s proceeding received a presidential communication for the confirmation of service chiefs appointed by president Bola Ahmad Tinubu recently

The letter was read by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio during it’s plenary to communicate with the rest members as the law enshrined.

However, the Senate has announced the formation of seven special committee’s chairmen and their vice for the red chamber to kick start it’s operations pending the pronouncement of other standing committees.

Unveiling the committees, Senator Godswill Akpabio urged them to function effectively.

He listed the committee as
Senate committee on appropriation, which Solomon Olamelekon from Ogun State is assigned to chair the committee, while senator Muhammad Ali Ndume the vice chairman, committee on public account is given to senator Aliyu Wadada and senator Onyeka Peter, while Senator Okei Izea and Khalil Ibrahim as vice chairman committee on Ethics and Privileges.

Similarly the Senate commuttee on Rules and Business was given to senator Titus Zam and Opeyemi Bamidele , that of Senate services committee was given to senator Sunady Karimi and senator Williams Jonah.

However, Senate committee on compliance was given to senator Buba Umar as chairman and senator Asuquo Ekpeyong as his vice. There is also a committee on media chaired by senator Adara Yemi and Salisu Afolabi as his viceHowever, Senate committee on compliance was given to senator Buba Umar as chairman and senator Asuquo Ekpeyong as his vice.

The Senate president assured that other committee’s will be announce in due course.
