Kano Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robbers, Kidnappers

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 103 suspected criminals for allegedly committing various offences raging from armed robbery, drug dealers, kidnappers and motor vehicles among others.

The Commissioner of Police, Mohammad Gumel disclosed this during a media briefing held at the police headquarters Bompai Kano.

He said within the last three weeks, a total of one hundred and eight (108) suspects were arrested in different parts of the state for allegedly committing various offenses.

Some recovered weapons

He said the command had recovered some dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, motor vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, and other exhibits.

The CP noted that those arrested include twenty-four (24) armed robbery suspects, three (3) suspected kidnappers, two (2) suspected drug dealers and nine (9) suspected thieves.

Others were two (2) motor vehicle thieves, three (3) tricycle thieves, three (3) motorcycle thieves, fifty-seven (57) suspected thugs (Yan Daba) and five (5) suspected fraudsters.

CP Mohammad Gumel noted that the Command is now focusing on the emerging thuggery (Daba) activities especially within Kano Metropolis.

“Going forward on this, we have set out operational strategies with robust intelligence gathering on the early warning signs and our assets are already in place towards surmounting all forms of the underlying crimes and criminality around the state.

“We have identified suspected thugs (‘Yan Daba) Kingpins and were by this Press Conference invited to report at the nearest Police Station or else will be declared wanted, and arrest them at all costs and get them prepared for full wrath of the law.

“Those invited were, Burakita of Dorayi Karama Quartersii, Messi of Kan Tudun Dalaiii, Dan Boss of Dala Makabartaiv, Ado Runtu of Tudun Fulani, Bachirawa Quarters v. Baffa Killer of Mazaunar Tanko Quarters vi. Kamilu Duna of Adakawa Quartersvii, Chile Mai Doki of Tudun Fulani, Bachirawa Quartersviii, Uzaifa of Unguwar Yola Quarters ix, Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu Quarters x, Bahago of Makabarta Kuka Bulukiya Quartersxi, Nasiru Naso of Kofar Wambai Quarters xii, Nazifi Nanaso of Zango Quarters xiii, Sharu Gambo of Sharifai Quartersxiv, Sharu Ali of Sharifai Quartersxv, Ma’aruf Goma of Hanga Quartersxvi, Zubairu Mai Dala of Yalwa Quarters Dala.
