Speaker Disassociates Self From Unsuitable Comments Against Buhari, Elrufai

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajuddeen has lauded the APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu for his leadership which led to the party’s victory at the 2023 general elections and the emergence of the leadership of 10th Assembly through zoning arrangement.

He made the statement when he led some members of the House alongside his Deputy to pay a Sallah homage to the APC National Chairman in his home town Keffi, Nasarawa State.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, described the APC National Chairman as a pillar of support to the National Assembly, stressing that they would remain loyal and committed to the ideals of the party.

Responding, APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu thanked the Speaker, his Deputy and other APC members of the House for being loyal to the party, especially during the inauguration of the 10th House.

The Speaker and his Deputy were accompanied during the visit by the Chairman Joint Task – 10th Assembly, Alhaji Usman Bello Kumo, Chairman Ad-hoc Committee on Legislative Agenda, Prof Julius Ihonvbere among others.

In another development, the Speaker has disassociated himself from an unsuitable comments made against former President Muhammadu Buhari and the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i by one of his aides Mr Godfrey Gaiya.

In a statement by Special Adviser on Media and publicity to the Speaker, Malam Musa Abdullahi Kirshi, said Mr Godfrey Gaiya, did not have the imprimatur of the Speaker to grant such an interview.

The statement adds that for the avoidance of doubt, Dr Abbas Tajuddeen, has a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who serves as his spokesman and all official statements from the Speaker came from him.

The Speaker maintained that it is pertinent to know that he has tremendous respect for and enjoys same from former President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i, and will not do anything that will affect his good relationship with them.
