
Kebbi State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, has intercepted 104 Parcels of Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp), 5 miligram of 99 Diazepam tablets and handed over to National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.
Other items seized are 70 packs of 225 miligram, 107 of 50 kilogram of foreign perboiled rice, 38 bailes of secondhand clothing, 1,275 literalmente of PMS, 52 Jerry Can of Vegetale oíl, a Honda Accord 2014 model and one used Opel Vehícle.



Briefing newsmen while Handing over the seized items to NDLEA, the Customs Comptroller, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, explained that, based on a tip off from well meaning citizens, the officers of the command swung into action through stop and search along Kyangakwai road made the arrest of the suspect Suleiman Yusuf Alias Babangida carrying the illegal concealment of Cannabis Sativa.
According to him, an abandoned seizure made of 70 packs of tramdol of 225 mg and 5mg of 260 Diazepam tablets was also intercepted at Kamba, Rijiyar Maikafi bush path.
Dr. Oramalugo said, the paid duty value for the seized items stands at Sixty four million, six hundred and thirteen thousand, five hundred and ninety four naira (64,613,594).
While assuring the Command’s steadfastness in carrying its core mandates and stands on zero telorance for smuggling particularly fuel and foreign parboiled rice, called on sister agencies for more of their support and cooperation in fighting the menace of criminal activities in the state.
In a remark, Kebbi State Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Sule Usman, commended Customs for their effort in combating smuggling of unwanted goods into the country.
He revealed that, Kebbi State was one of the highest in drugs in the country with two porous borders affecting the fight against drugs in the state.
He called on sister security agencies and the public on cooperation to fight the menace of drugs addiction in the state.
