Zamfara State Hajji Commission has received three thousand and eighty three 3,083 hajji seats allocated by the National Hajji Commission for the 2023 Intending pilgrims.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission Lawal Isa Abdullahi disclosed this during a meeting with the Commission’s board members in Gusau, the state capital.

Isah Abdullahi said the Commission had started collecting deposit of two million five hundred thousand Naira N2,500,000.00 from the state intending pilgrims pending the pronouncement by the NAHCOM.

According to him, those deposited their money last year but were unable to perform the exercise will be given special consideration this year.

He said, intending pilgrims who wish to partake in the exercise were expected to present a bank draft of a minimum of N2,500,000.00 (Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only payable to the Zamfara State Pilgrims Welfare Board, to book a seat for the 2023 hajj exercise pending the release of the actual hajj fare.

The Chairman also advocated for the National Hajj Savings Scheme in order to creates an avenue for intending pilgrims from the state to save towards fulfilling one of the pillars of Islam.

According to him, the scheme assists low income earners and the public to save at their convenience, towards meeting their goal of going on hajj.

He said they hold a meeting with the board members to mark the beginning of 2023 Hajj exercise process for the success of the program.

Abdullahi also called on those willing to participate in this years exercise to come forward and make their deposits before the proper announcement of the hajj fees by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
