Nigerian Army says in continuation with onslaught against Banditry,Kidnapping, Terrorism and other Criminal activities in the North-West region,Troops of One Division Kaduna and Air Component of Operation whirl Punch Dealt a Massive Blow on Criminal Elements.
In a statement by Deputy Director Army Public Relations,One Division, Lt.Colonel Musa Yahaya says a Forty-eight Hour Operation led to the Clearance of Manini-Kuriga,Farin Ruwa,Kwanan Tashi,Makera, Dogon dawa-Maidaro road,Kidandan-yadi Forest and Sabon Birni all in Birnin Gwari and Dogon-dawa-Kidandan in Giwa Local Government Areas respectively.
It explains that during the encounter, Troops engaged the Criminals with Heavy and Superior Firepower,Capturing one AK47 rifle with twenty rounds of ammunition,Six Motorcycles and Neutralised four bandits,While others escaped with Gunshot Wounds.
The Statement Maintained that the Troops Permanently displaced and rendered the General area Inhabitable for all Criminals, as well as destroyed their enclaves, Properties and the Captured motorcycles.
The General Officer Commanding One Division and force Commander Operation whirl Punch, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja expressed Satisfaction with the Conduct of the Troops during the Operation and Commended them for their gallantry and resilience.
He also urged all law abiding Citizens to continue to assist the Military and other Security Agencies with timely and Credible Intelligence.
The GOC appealed to Members of the Public Particularly Health Facilities and Paramedics to watch out for persons who may be Seeking Medical Attention for Gunshot wounds, and report to relevant Security Agencies.
