Industrial Training Fund has trained one hundred and twenty thousand youths on solar installations, aluminum and hairdressers under National Industrial Skills Development Programme in Kaduna State.

The Director General of the ITF Sir Joseph Ari stated this during the closing ceremony of the programme held at Mogadishu, in Kaduna.

According to Sir Joseph Ari, the National Industrial Skills Development had equipped over five hundred thousand Nigerians Nationwide with skills for employability and entrepreneurship for them to become self reliance.

He explained that the Industrial Training Fund over the years had developed numerous skills intervention programmes to promote entrepreneurship, employability, job and wealth creation to reduce youth restiveness and also promote the diversification of the Nigerian economy.

The DG who was represented by the Deputy Director Mr. Martin Hussani Shepga said the programmes were specifically designed to breed to transform the economic landscape of the country.

These programmes included the National Industrial Skills Development, Women Skills Empowerment, Agric-preneurship skills empowerment for the physically challenged among others.

Sir, Joseph Ari appealed to governments , private sectors, NGO and politicians to partner the fund by sponsoring additional trainees or buying start up packs for the beneficiaries of the programme.

In his speech, the Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology Professor Kabir Mato warned the trainees that selling of the start up packs is a criminal act and anyone found would faced the wrath of the law.

He assured that Kaduna State Government would partner the office of ITF in Kaduna State for the training of staff for the development of the state.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Area Manager of ITF in Kaduna State, Engineer Garba Hassan commended Kaduna State Government for supporting the program in the state.

In a vote of thanks, the Head of Training Kaduna Area Office, Mr. Daniel Jambhadi commended the trainees, the state government and others for making the program a success.

Engineer Garba Hassan narrated that the fund was established in 1971 with the aim at training youths to become self reliance and support their community.
