The committee set up by Kano state Hisbah Board, to investigate the controversy surrounding Malama Khadija Rano, who was alleged to have dissolved her marriage, to marry her daughter’s boyfriend had concluded it’s investigation.

Presenting the report, Chairman of the committee, who doubles as deputy commander in charge of special operations, Malam Hussain Ahmed Chediyar ‘Yan Gurasa explained that, the committee had found out that the marriage is legal and had fulfilled all the necessary criteria.

He highlighted that the lady, Khadija Rano was divorced by her husband, and had observed the three months waiting period (iddah) prescribed by Islam, and later married a man whom her biological daughter had earlier rejected.

Malam Hussain dismissed rumours that, Khadijah was seeing her new husband while married, and that she instigated her husband to divorce her to marry her daughter’s suitor.

He hinted that, the marriage is legal according to Islam, saying it was the reason the Hisbah commander in Rano local government areabsupported and took part in the wedding rites.

Responding, the Commander General Kano state Hisbah Board, Sheikh Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina, commended the committee for discharging it’s duties effectively.

He maintained that, the committee members were carefully selected, due to their vast knowledge on Islamic teachings and societal orientation.

Sheikh Ibn Sina charged the public to desist from spreading fake news and avoid misconceptions on issues regarding Islam.

He advised them to seek for knowledge, as Islam is a religion that set aside jurisdictions regarding marriage, family life and all other related issues of human endeavor.
