Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State has handed over 450 houses to the Nigeria labour Congress, NLC for distribution to state civil servants.

The Governor announced this while presenting keys of the houses to NLC Chairman at Daza Housing Estate in Gusau local government area.

Bello Muhammad Matawalle said the houses would be giving to the state civil servants from grade levels 1-7 with a subsidy of thirty percent of the total amount.

He explained that the construction of one thousand housing units would also be flagged off this week for the state senior staff.

The Governor also expressed satisfaction with the construction, dualization of roads, and other social amenities provided in the estate while calling on the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by supporting government policy and programs.

Matawalle also expressed worry about how the civil servants who dedicated themselves to serving the state ended off without having a shelter and assured his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants.

In a remark, the NLC Chairman Zamfara State Chapter, Comrade Sani Halliru commended the efforts of the state governor for alleviating the suffering of the state civil servants, especially in this direction.

He expressed appreciation for approving the long-awaited thirty thousand naira minimum wage as well as releasing the November and December salary of the state civil servants and that of local government and education authority.
