Fire Raze Police Headquarters In Kano

The Kano Police Command headquarters, Bompai has been razed down by fire on Saturday afternoon.

Reports gathered by Radio Nigeria indicated that the fire started from the Provost Office and spread to Finance Department, Conference Room, PPRO Office, Assistant Commissioner (Admin) Office, Deputy Commissioner (Admin) Office, among others.

A source told Radio Nigeria that offices at the top floor of the 1967 building were engulfed by the fire, except the office of the Commissioner.

Meanwhile the Public Relations Officer of Kano Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said no live was lost during the fire out break at the headquarters of the Nigerian police Kano Command.

In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano, the PPRO said fire engulfed the first floor of Kano State Police Command’s Headquarters Bompai Administrative Block.

“No life was lost and no injury was recorded. The fire was brought under control by firefighters”.

The statement explains that the Deputy Governor of Kano State, DR Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna visited the Scene, sympathize with the NPF, the IGP, the AIG Zone 1 who was also present at the scene, CP Mamman Dauda and officers and men of Kano Police Command, and on behalf of Kano State Government promise to assist.”
