Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has commended Alhaji Farouk Adamu Aliyu for accepting the Supreme Court ruling that upheld the appeal court judgment confirming Mallam Umar Namadi as the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the state.
This is contained in a statement made available to Radio Nigeria in Dutse by the state Commissioner for Special Duties Auwal Danladi Sankara.
He said, Farouk Adamu Aliyu had proven to be a real democrat, agrees to continue to be part of the APC, and vowed to support the presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governorship Candidate Alhaji Umar Namadi.
“For us, as a party, we are glad that one of our own who has always been part and parcel of our struggle can not be more grateful for a party stalwart despite having challenged us in court to humbly submit and accept the outcome”.
Badaru Abubakar added that being the North-West Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shetima campaign and the state Governor, urged party members to continue to accord respect to their leader Farouk Adamu Aliyu.
Also commenting after the court judgment, the Jigawa state Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel described the court judgment as a victory for democracy.
According to Alhaji Amin Gumel, it is allowed for a party member to seek legal redress if not satisfied with any process.
He said, Farouk was one of the party leaders and commended him for accepting the court’s judgment in good faith.
“We called on Farouk Adamu Aliyu and all other party members to join hands to concentrate on campaigning for our party candidates at all levels for an overwhelming victory in the forthcoming general election”.
