China has reopened its borders to international visitors closed since March 2020, when it imposed travel restrictions due to COVID outbreak.

China says Incoming travelers will no longer need to quarantine but be mandated to present proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of travelling.

Many intending travelers to China have commended the initiative.

COVID forced China to develop one of the world’s strictest Covid health policies that saw numerous lockdowns, frequent testing requirements and had a significant impact on the nation’s economy.

The government had to relax some of the policies after mass protests across the country, triggered by a fire in a high-rise block in the Xinjiang region that killed 10 people.
