No fewer than eleven people are feared dead following high electric power supply in some areas of Zaria city.
Areas affected include Gwargwaje and Kauran Juli Police Barracks situated along Zaria-Kaduna expressway.
A resident of the area said electric supply was restored in the area around 1am which came in high voltage, thereby causing indiscriminate spark of electricity gadgets.
“That resulted to burnt of a house of one Engineer Zubair Abubakar while other houses continued to release smokes.”
Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Zaria gathered that those feared death include a pregnant woman, health personnel, a Police Officer’s father and his son as well as many others in Gwargwaje area.
Details of those that lost their lives in Kauran juli has not been ascertained yet.
When contacted, Head of Media, Kaduna Electric, said they will provide a press release after confirming the report, while the Head of Fire service in Zaria also requested for time to come up with a report.
