House of Representatives has passed a Bill for an Act to Establish Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology FUHST Kankia, Katsina State.
Sponsored by a member from Katsina State Alh Abubakar Yahaya Kusada, if established the University will be the first of it’s kind in the history of North Western geopolitical zone of the country.
Alh Abubakar Kusada, explained that the proposed University would have a unified objective of encouraging the advancement of learning in the areas of Health Science and Technology, with the powers to establish and operate all offices, departments, faculties, research centers and institutes related to health science and technology.
The lawmaker maintained that if fully established, the University would also offer admissions and employments in line with the rules and regulations guiding the operations of universities in Nigerian.
Moving the bill for the third reading and passage, leader of the house Alh Alhassan Ado Doguwa, said the document would now be transmitted to the Senate for concurrence.
