The Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), has assured the involvement of stakeholders in various communities of HYPPADEC states to achieve the objectives of the commission.

The Chairman, Governimg Council of the commission, Mr Joseph Terfa Ityav, gave the assurance at the opening of the stakeholders forum on the proposed medium term strategic plan held in Kebbi State.

He said, the Commission has set out indicators, objectives and targets to achieve the mandate set out for HYPPADEC.

According to him, the Commission would continue to involve stakeholders of the HYPPADEC states whenever they have working documents to enable them meet their objectives through inclusiveness and generation of synergy to meet the yearnings of all HYPPADEC communities.

He therefore emplore the stakeholders to
contribute constructively to the success of the meeting, and hoped that, at the end they will come up with working documents for HYPPADEC.

The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, described the mandate of HYPPADEC as important and urged the commission to work with other states in various aspect such as food security and climate change among others.

Governor Bagudu said, flooding affects fishing, farming and rearing communities which needs serious intervention of the commission.
