Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has stressed the need for the Armed Forces to be proactive in protecting Nigeria’s core interests.

He made the call at the twentieth convocation lecture in honour of cadets of regular course sixty-nine and post-graduates students held at NDA auditorium, Kaduna.

Professor Ibrahim Gambari explained that in achieving this objective, the Armed Forces must be up to speed in an era of technologically driven warfare with a digital edge and an updated training curricular towards changing the warfare landscape.

He urged senior officers of the Armed Forces to come up with plans that would be operationally proficient in reacting to contemporary security challenges.

Professor Gambari noted that the ceremony is coming at a time the world is going through a period of change that foreshadow an anticipated new world order.

The Chief of Staff described NDA as an embodiment of Nigeria’s quest for nationhood and protection of its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Earlier in his address, Commandant of the NDA, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf disclosed that a reviewed curriculum has been designed for military and academic trainings to meet contemporary security challenges.

He urged the graduands to bring their knowledge to bear in service to the nation and humanity at large, wherever they may find themselves.

The theme of the lecture is: “National Security, Defence and Diplomacy in a Changing World Order”
