Mr. Adams George, Assistant Kaduna State Nutrition Officer, Primary Health Care Board Making Presentations.

Kaduna state has identified critical stateholders in the area of malnutrition and working very closely with them to prevent escalation of Malnutrition in the state.

The Assistant State Nutrition Officer, Primary Health Care Board, Mr. Adams George stated this at Seminar to promote Maternal Infant Young Child Nutrition Round Table with Media Organizations in Kaduna.
He said one of the major stakeholder is the Accelerating Results in Nigeria ,ANrin which is a world bank Project providing funding for nutrition deployed to support in addressing nutritional needs and reduce Children and maternal mortality.

Mr. Adams George maitained that special attention was given To mothers because if the mother is malnourished there is no how the child will not be malnourished.

Also in an address, project Manager, State Emergency on Nutrition, Mallam Umar Usman Babale noted that Seven Hundred Million has so far been spent on malnutrition excluding foreign support in the last 2 years.

In a presentation, Zonal Coordinator Alive and Thrive, Mrs. Sarah Didi Kwasu appealed to media organizations to enlightened parents on what type of food the child needs and at what time, also on required Supplementation, what action and inaction can lead to as far as malnutrition is concerned

She quoted a report which says Nigeria account for Thirty Four percent of global maternity which necessitate the workshop to provide adequate information to residents of Kaduna state.

Participants advocated for internal solutions to malnutrition because we have all the nutritional food to source locally.
They also observed that if Ninety percent of children are exclusively breastfed, 13 percent of child mortality will be averted stressing that the first One Thousand days of a child is the very important period to the child nutritional provision.
