Speaker House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has directed contractors handling renovation work of the National Assembly complex to ensure speedy completion of the project.

He gave the directive while inspecting the work, particularly the House of Representatives Chamber as well as the National Assembly service commission permanent site.

Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, who was conducted round to the key components of the renovation work, warned that timely completion of the project must not compromise the quality it deserved.

The project manager briefed the speaker and his team about the status of the renovation work

Addressing Assembly correspondents after the inspection, the Speaker confirmed that new changes introduced in the renovation would greatly assist lawmakers to discharge their legislative duties in line with global standards.

He said the 10th Assembly most likely be inaugurated in the temporary chamber unless the renovation exercise of the main chamber was completed months before the stipulated time frame.

Responding on the 2023 budget presentation, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, said it would likely be done in the first week of October.
