Police Rescue 4 Kidnapped Victims In Kwara State

Kwara state Police command says it has rescued four out of the six occupants of a hummer bus kidnapped on Obbo-Ile/Osi road.

A statement by the spokesman of the command , Okasanmi Ajayi said the kidnapped victims were abducted by five armed hoodlums at about 0730hrs.

Accoding to him on receipt of the information, a detachments of conventional policemen,tactical teams, vigilante and Hlhunters were immediately dispatched to the area for possible search, rescue and arrest of the suspects.

Ajayi explained that the victims’ vehicle, loaded with foodstuffs was found abandoned, adding that an empty shell of 7.62mm ammunition was also recovered inside the bus.

He noted that the intensity of the pressure during the search and rescue efforts led to the abandonment of four of the abductees, noting that the kidnappers who are believed to be in the bushes with the two remaining victims will soon be arrested.

Ajayi assured the families of the yet to be released victims, that no stone will be left unturned in rescuing the remaining victims still in the custody of the kidnappers.

He advised commuters to avoid night journey especially on isolated roads.
