Major General Obinna Ajunwa has taken over as the new General Officer Commanding the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Lagos.

General Ajunwa took over from Major General Umar Musa who was re- assigned to 82 Division, Enugu, as the General Officer Commanding, GOC.

The outgoing officer, Major General Umar Musa, while handing over the command, thanked God for the opportunity to serve in that capacity.

General Musa expressed appreciation for the support of the officers and men of the Division which he said was responsible for his success in spite of challenges.

He called on them to extend to his successor the same level of cooperation for the progress of the Division.

General Musa advised officers to work as a team of professionals in the discharge of their duties , remain loyal and follow instructions of their superiors.

The new General Officer Commanding, GOC, Major General Obinna Ajunwa, who was formally Nigeria Defence Adviser to Brazil, promised to continue from where his predecessor stopped, to take the Division to a greater height.
General Ajunwa stressed that he was fully prepared to ensure the reign of peace in Lagos State

General Ajunwa is the 32 nd General officer commanding the 81 Division.

The event was witnessed by some Senior officers from various units and commands of the Nigerian Army.
