The Kebbi State Contributory Health Care Management Agency, (KECHEMA) has inuagurated the State Basic Health Care Provision Fund Gateways Forum.

The forum between the State Primary Health Development Agency and the State Contributory Health Care Management Agency, is to promote synergy among the gateways and to agree on a common goal.

The forum is to also foster unity and good working relationship towards achieving the set standard of Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) as well as setting a goal to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Speaking at the inuaguration, the Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Contributory Health Management Agency, Dr. Jafar Muhammad Augie, called on the attention of the Committee members not to take and implement self decision.

He urged them to be sincere in the discharge of their duty and for them to put in mind that, they are working for the state.

In there seperate goodwill messages, the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, National Health Insurance Scheme and National Primary Health Care Development Agency, hoped that, the two gateways would work in synergy at the facilities so as to foster effective and efficient health service delivery to the populace.

The National Health Act 2014 mandated the establishment of earmarked fund BHCPF for effect delivery of primary health care services, provision of a Basic Minimum Package of Health Services (BMPHS) and the Emergency Medical Treatment (EMT) for all Nigerians.

The Act also prescribed that, the BHCPF would be funded through the federal government annual grant of not less than one percent of its consolidated revenue, grants by the International donor partners and funds from other sources.
