The passage of the long-awaited Social Protection Bill SPB into law by the Zamfara State Assembly has been described as a giant effort toward all-inclusive Social Development in the State.

Zamfara State Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Fa’ika M. Ahmed stated this while reacting to the passage of the bill into law by the Assembly.

Fa’ika Ahmed explained that the thorough legislative processes carried out before the passage of the bill into law assured the willingness of the Assembly, in complementing the passion and efforts of the state Governor.

The Commissioner affirmed that the Social Protection Programmes were multi-sectoral involving the MDAs of the social sector as coordinated by Zamfara State Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Hajiya Fa’ika also expressed optimism that, the bill would in no delay be assented by Governor Bello Matawalle, taking into cognisance of his continuous commitments toward a better life for the people of Zamfara State.

The Commissioner also applauded Members of the State Assembly, the participation and support of Save the Children International, other donor agencies and Organisations who have been supportive of the Social Protection Programmes in the state.
