Christian Association of Nigeria-CAN says some political parties in the country fielding same faith tickets will not make them lose sleep over it.
The Chairman, Kaduna State Chapter of the Association, Reverend John Joseph Hayab stated this during an interactive session with journalists at his office in Kaduna.
He explained that there was a need for political parties to be sensitive in choosing their running mates to reflect the principle of federal character as enshrined in the constitution.
“Why would anyone worry about Muslim-Muslim ticket when there are several options and even Christian candidates in some political parties.
“Why should we be bothered about the choice of one party when there are over 10 political parties to choose from? Perhaps it is the Christians in that party that are incompetent and cannot mobilize support for the party” he added.
The State CAN chairman further argued that if there was anybody to protest, it was the Christians in the political parties because they were the people directly affected.
“People go to restaurants to only eat the food that will not cause their body problem. There are different choices of food. You may choose to eat white rice, jollof rice or rice and beans,” he said.
Reverend Hayab therefore advised christians especially in Kaduna State to be calm and only do the needful in the forth coming election.
