Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, NAOWA, 1 Brigade Chapel Gusau has Celebrated the 2022 Nigerian Army Day Celebration with Orphans, Widows and Patients in Zamfara State.

The NAOWA Zonal Coordinator, 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau, Mrs Deborah Baushe who led other members of the Union during the event distributed food items, Cleaning and Disinfection facilities and Cash.

Mrs Deborah who urged them to intensify prayers for Peace and unity in Nigeria said this year’s celebration marks 159 years of the Nigerian Army.

She explained that, the gesture was to show love and support to the beneficiaries in celebrating the day and appealed for support and corporation to the Army as they are working to protect the territorial integrity of the country.

On his part, the Medical Officer of the 1 Brigade Medical Facility, Captain Dr Henry T Gani said the medical facility is taking care of soldiers and the families, therefore appreciate the NAOWA Coordinator for the donations made to both the patients and the facility.

In their separate remarks, Maijidda Muhammad Chairperson of the Army Widows Association and Sadiya Umar Kaura, Director Planning, Research and Statistics of the Zamfara State ministry for women affairs and Social Development expressed excitement and gratitude for the packages to Widows and Orphans respectively and prayed for success in the ongoing fight against criminals.

Some of the orphans who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed gratitude and willingness to join the Nigerian Army after completion of their studies.
