Corps members sent to Taraba State have been warned to desist from engaging in the local politics of their host communities during the period of their service.

The Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Muhammed Fadah issued the warning at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘B’ Stream one orientation course held at the NYSC orientation camp Sibre, in Ardo Kola LGA of the state.

He reminded them of their oath of allegiance in which they pledged to accept posting in good faith, and called on them to perform their duties diligently and be guided by the provision of the NYSC act and bi-laws, as well as work’s place rules and regulations.

Represented by the Taraba State Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Nzoka, Fadah urged the corps members to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work, and resilience that they have imbibed during the orientation course.

The DG also enjoined them to undertake personal and group community development service projects that will help to uplift the living standard of the people of their host communities.

“I have received impressive reports on your participation in the entrepreneurial training conducted in camp under the NYSC SAED program,” Fadah commended.

He, therefore, encouraged them to build on the skills acquired by availing themselves of opportunities for post-camp training, as it will go a long way in empowering them for self-reliance.

Brigadier General Muhammed Fadah, however, assured the corps members that the NYSC management will continue to explore avenues of optimizing the impact of the program and warned them against attending night parties, cultism, and acceptance of car rides from strangers among others.
