There are indications that the acting Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Chukwuyere Anamekwe may have been replaced.

He was reportedly replaced by Okolieaboh Ezeoke Sylvis, a former Director of Treasury Single Account in the office of the AGF.

The former acting AGF was appointed on the 22nd of May this year following EFCC’s arrested of the suspended Accountant General, Ahmed Idris over an initial fraud amount of eighty billion naira.

Mr Anamekwe who replaced Ahmed Idris is said to be also facing corruption charges by the EFCC.

When contacted on the matter, the Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance on Media, Tanko Yunusa directed Radio Nigeria to the Office of the Accountant General.

Calls and text messages to the Director Press in the office of the Accountant General, Mr Henshaw Ogubike we’re unanswered as of the time of this report.
