Bandits have killed eleven farmers and injured others in Sokoto state.

The attack took place at Kuryar village in Rabah local government of the state.

In a telephone call a resident of Gandi, Yahya Gandi told Radio Nigeria that, the bandits came in large numbers and attacked the farmers while working on their farmlands.

According to him, six farmers died on the spot while five were seriously injured.

He added that, two others were abducted by the bandits.

Another source put the number of death at 8 as two of the injured farmers later died in the hospital.

The source however, said that, the abducted farmers were later rescued by a vigilant group known as Yan Sakai who pursued the bandits.

Malam Yahya Gandi said three other farmers were killed in the nearby village.

When contacted, the Public Relation Officer of the Sokoto Police Command, DSP Sanusi Abubakar said he was not aware of the attack but he would find out and get back which he did not do at the time of filling this report.
