SME’s: NEPC Trains Over 45 Women In Zamfara

Nigeria Export Promotion Council NEPC, has trained over 45 Women’s with Small and Medium Enterprises, SME’s on Packaging, Branding and certification for Export.

The Promotion Adviser of NEPC Gusau Smart Office, Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila disclosed this in Gusau shortly after Presenting a paper on packaging, rebranding and certification.

Alhaji Yusuf Ismail said the program was aimed at enhancing the capacity of women to develop their business and to package them to meet the needs of international markets.

He called on the participants to use the knowledge learnt in developing various small scale businesses with a high quality and market standard and also to train others in their various localities.

Earlier in his Paper Presentation, State Coordinator of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Malam Hamisu Yahaya described the importance of registering products which gives the customers confidence in buying it.

According to him, NAFDAC is an agency established to regulates and register all food items and Drugs as well as formulate and put together the standard and specification for production, importation and exportation.

He therefore advised the participants to always visit NAFDAC for advise as well as register their products for international market standard.

Some of the participants who spoke to Radio Nigeria Umma Hani and Samira Bello Bara’u expressed their happiness and commended the efforts of the organizers of this program which they described as timely.

They also called on women in the state to always participate in programs of such nature in order to enable them start a business

Highlight of the program was the display of various products produced and packaged by many Small and medium women entrepreneurs in the state.
