Speaker Nasiru Maazu Magarya and Commissioner for local government and rural development, Abubakar S Pawa Dambo

Governor Bello Matawalle, of Zamfara State, has approved the appointment of State House of Assembly Speaker, Nasiru Magarya, as Amirul Hajj (leader of Hajj pilgrims) of the state for the 2022 Hajj.

This is contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alh Kabiru Balarabe, to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

The Governor has also approved the appointment of members of the delegation: “Alh. Farouk Musa Dosara, House Leader, State House of Assembly; Abubakar S-Pawa, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs; Emir of Talata-Mafara, Alh. Bello Barmo; and Chairman, State Council of Ulama, Sheikh Ahmad Kanoma.

Other members of the delegation include Babangida Abubakar-Anka, Musa Ibrahim-Yau, Hajiya Asiyatu Suleiman, while the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Garba Ahmad, is the Secretary of the delegation.

The statement notes that the appointment is with immediate effect.
