Save The Children International Empowers Over 1000 In Jigawa

Over 1,400 people received various empowerment packages by Save the Children International in Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa state.


The chief of party, Save the Children International Dr Isah Adamu disclosed this while handing over the empowerment packages to the beneficiaries in Andaza and Shuwarin towns.


According to him, the International donor partners have engaged 340 community groups of men and women in Andaza town.


He explained that, as part of effort to address pneumonia and improve nutrition for children, SCI funded by GSK spent almost two years giving support and interventions to 340 women and men groups in Kiyawa local government.


Dr Adamu Isah further explained that, the gesture is to support that 340 groups with some interventions for them to have strength and continue providing interventions for themselves.


 He pointed out that , with that little empowerment packages, it can help them to take care with medicines, means of attending near-by hospital and provision of nutritious foods for their children.


 The Chief of party therefore assured more interventions and urged the beneficiaries to use the packages appropriately for achieving the desired goals.


 Radio Nigeria reports that, the empowerment packages include grinding machines, fertilizer, sprayer machines, seeds, sewing machines, goats, barbing equipments among many other equipment.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended Save the Children International for the gesture.
