Intending pilgrims to this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia from Niger state must receive covid 19 vaccination before embarking on the journey.
Executive Secretary, Niger state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Umar Makun Lapai stated this while addressing Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers of twenty five local government councils in Minna.
Umar Makun Lapai explained that all intending pilgrims must received both first and second dose of covid 19 vaccines as well as the booster jab as condition for the Hajj.
According to him, the purpose of the meeting was to inform them on the number of hajj seats and what was allocated to each local government council in Niger state.
Umar Makun Lapai also enjoined them to sensitise intending pilgrims to be prepared to pay additional fare cos of likelihood of increase in this year’s hajj fare to about two point five million naira.
The Executive Secretary however warned them against the collection of hajj fare until they receive instruction to do so.
