The Nigerian Air Force in collaboration with the British Military Advisory Training Team have trained one hundred and fifty Air Officers in advanced special force operatives to tackle the insurgency facing the country.

Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Ibukunle Daramola stated this during the graduation ceremony of the first advanced special operation course one twenty twenty-two held at the special operation command of the Nigerian Air force in Bauchi.

Air Vice Marshal Ibukunle Daramola said out of two hundred and eighty-five being nominated for the course, only one hundred and fifty were found fit after a series of medical and physical screening.

Daramola maintained that at the end of the eighth week’s course, one hundred and forty-five personnel comprising three officers and one hundred and forty-two airmen graduated successfully.

He said the special force operation was characterized by speed precision and destabilizing shock effects that required special force operation.

In a remark, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Isiayaka Amao expressed optimism that the graduating students had acquired the necessary tactics and techniques during the training.

Amao represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo said that the Nigerian Air force had so far trained about five thousand regiments and two hundred special operation force personnel.

The Chief of Air Staff commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the support given to Nigerian Air Force and other Security Agencies as the nation was facing security challenges.

He also urged the graduating students to use the knowledge and skills acquired to ensure the attainment of desired effects and outcomes.

On his part, the Commander British Military Advisory Training Team, Colonel Roddy Shannon described the United Kingdom’s relationship with Nigeria as deep-rooted and strong.

He said the advanced operative course would pave the way to defeat the common enemy in Northeastern Nigeria, Lake Chad Basin and other troubled areas.

Highlights of the occasion are award presentations to the excelling participants of the Nigerian Air Force Training Team as well as a parade by officers.
