Scores Dead, Many Injured in Taraba Bomb Blast

At least three people have died following an explosive detonated at a local beer market near a cattle market in Iware, Ardo Kola local government area of Taraba State.

An eyewitness who preferred anonymity told our correspondent that the incident occurred Tuesday evening.

He said the suspected bombers were said to be two in number where one was caught and killed by the angry residents at the spot, but later security personnel was sighted carrying the dead body.

Another source also told our reporter that eleven corpses have been recorded so far as a result of the explosive attack.
saying the bomber who was accompanied by another disguised as a customer.

However, another source narrated that the explosive was hidden in a black polythene bag and carefully dropped at the drinking spot by the bomber before leaving the bar.

He said, “the two guys came to the Burkutu market as if they wanted to buy the local beer. After they were served the one holding the poly bag containing the bomb dropped his beer and the polythene bag and left and minutes later the bomb exploded.” The source revealed.

Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Usman Abdullahi who confirmed the incident said three persons were killed while nineteen others were injured and have been hospitalized within the community.
