Live In Peace For Development Of The Nation: Dahiru Bauchi Urges Muslims, Christians

A renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has called for more prayers in this month of Ramadan for Nigeria to over come the current security challenges it is facing.

He made the call during breaking of fasting in his residence with some christian clerics from some part of the 19 northern states under the leadership of pastor yohanna Buru to strengthen Christians -Muslim relationship.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi who decried increased killings in some part of the country, kidnapping and other forms of insecurity, called on government to take more pro-active measures towards bringing an end to the insecurity affecting the nation .

The Islamic Scholar urged Muslims and Christians to always live in peace and harmony for the development of the nation.

He also expressed happiness for the visit and thanked the Christians under the leadership of Pastor Yohanna Buru for coming together to break the fast aimed at promoting peace and unity in the country.

In a remark, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha, kaduna Pastor Yohanna Buru said Ramadan Iftar provided Golden opportunity for Christians to interract with Muslims and promote better understanding among the adherence of the two religions

Pastor Buru explained that, the event which was the 11th time, was also meant to promote interreligious relations, dialogue, peace, unity, forgiveness and tolerance among adherence of the two main religion .

“We are doing this to enhance unity and to promote inter religious harmony and to avoid all forms of ethno religious, political and communal crisis bedevilling peace stability in the region ”.

“we have been coming for many years with our reverends, pastors, evangelists and church elders to meet and interact with top muslim scholars for the breaking of Ramadan fast for peace and unity” Buru reemphasized.

According to him, this year’s Ramadan comes amidst high cost of food stuffs in the markets and insecurity challenges due to terrorism, banditry and kidnapping in the region,

Pastor Yohanna however emphasized the need for Nigerians to join hands to embark on ceaseless prayer for God’s intervention to bring an end to instability affecting all nations.
