Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Farouq Yahaya has expressed the determination of military to defeat the adversary terrorising innocent Nigerians.

General Yahaya made the commitment while inspecting cache of arms and ammunition recovered recently from the ongoing military operation Desert Sanity in the region. 

He disclosed that the weapons were recovered from the spiritual and operational strongholds of insurgents which include Sambisa Forest, Timbuktu triangle and Mandara mountain. 

“Our call to all these terrorist, bandits and criminals is to know that the time is against them and the earlier they tow the line of peace the better otherwise we will get them, what we have gotten here speaks for itself and we are getting from other theaters in synergy with other Services and stakeholders ” the COAS said.

Lieutenant General Yahaya remarked that the recent setback encountered by the military in the North West will not deter them from achieving the Presidential mandate of restoring peace in the county. 

According to him, the newly acquired platforms are being deployed to all theaters of war in addition to refurbished one culminating to mass surrender of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters. 

The Army Chief expressed satisfaction with the commitment and zeal of troops.of operation Hadin Kai in the North East and from other theaters of operation.

Weapons recovered include artillery guns, Anti Aircraft ammunition, AK47 rifles among others
