A 20-year-old man, Salisu Garba has been arraigned at a Kano Sharia Court, for allegedly intimidating a woman.

Garba, who lives at Brigade Quarters Kano, is facing a two-count charge of criminal intimidation and obstruction of public servant.

The Prosecutor Counsel, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, told the court that one Habiba Imam a staff of KEDCO of Kwana hudu branch, reported the matter at Kwana hudu police station Kano on March 10.

He alleged that on the same day at about 11:30a.m, Garba told Imam (the complainant) to stop coming to their area to distribute bills or collect money, thereby obstructing her from discharging her duty.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 227 and 331 of Penal Code.

The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, ordered the remand of the defendant in Kano Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter until March 23 for summary trial.
