A Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, Coalition of 19 Northern States Students’ Progressives Forum has endorsed the Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s Presidential aspiration.
The Spokesperson of the Union, Comrade Mohammed Inuwa stated this during a public lecture and award presentation in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
He explained that, the northern student’s Union was behind Aminu Waziri Tambuwal’s Presidential aspiration, describing the Governor as Good for the job.
According to him, the NGO is not a political forum but part of critical stakeholders who are entitled to their opinion on national issues.
Comrade Mohammed Inuwa further explained that, the union observed with dismay the failure of ASUU and the federal government to bring an end to the strike embarked by university lecturers.
He said the strike action had threatened the future of Nigerian education.
While commenting on the plight of the Nigerian student’s, the Spokesperson commended Governor Tambuwal for his concerns about the students and ongoing efforts to facilitate fruitful discussion between ASUU and the government.

In a speech, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal thanked the students Union for the award and endorsement, describing it as a source of encouragement.
The Governor who was represented by the Sokoto State Commissioner for youths and sports, Alhaji Bashir Usman explained that, he is currently on a nationwide consultation for his aspiration to become Nigeria’s President in 2023.
Tambuwal promised to accord special priority to the education sector which was the bedrock of human civilization if elected.
