KDSG Committed To Sustainable Women Empowerment – Deputy Governor

Kaduna state government says it is committed to providing all critical support to women through the State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development to be at the forefront of the state administration’s agenda in building better society.

Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe stated this at the International Women’s Day Rally organized by Center for Communication and Social Impact in Kaduna.

Dr Balarabe explained that, the importance and impact of women in building the society cannot be overemphasized, stressing that, government efforts in developing better human resources further validate its relevance and significance for the human race.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe who commended the important role of women in building the human society, also applauded the the Center for Communication and Social Impact for building the capacity of youths and women by encouraging them to participate in politics.

According to her, the campaign by Women and Young people in Political and Governance Processes (We-You-pro), tagged “Hope, Actions and Progress for women and youth in politics” organised by the Centre for Communication and Social Impacts, came at a better time.

She said the aim was to strengthen the capacities of young people and women on strategies, policy and influence towards taking leadership positions to drive positive change.

She said the present administration in the state had also prioritized building an inclusive society by creating gender balance in its interventions and aspirations for the development of the state.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe reiterated the state government readiness to collaborate and partner with all and sundry to assure the advancement of women and youths and move the state forward.

The Executive Director, Centre for Communication and Social impact, Mrs Babafunke Fagbemi urged Nigerians to help break biases against women and young people’s participation in governing the country.

Mrs Fagbemi also called on Nigerian government to live up to its commitment to 35 % affirmative action on women inclusion across all arms of governance.


The rally was held to advocate for women and youth inclusion in the political and governance process in Nigeria.
