Health Scheme: KDSG Targets Over 16,000 Pensioners

Kaduna State Government says over 16,000 pensioners are targeted to be enrolled into the State Contributory Health Scheme.

The Director General of the Scheme in the State, Malam Abubakar Hassan stated this at the engagement meeting with the Nigeria Association of Pensioners Kaduna Chapter held in Kaduna.

Malam Abubakar Hassan who described pensioners as critical people in the society, said they need all the necessary support especially in the area of accessing quality health care because of their contributions in nation building.

Malam Hassan said the Scheme would assist them to drastically reduce out-of-pocket spending on their health, needs and also increase informal sector coverage into the scheme.

He appreciated the effort of the state Government for establishing KADCHMA and for always setting the pace for other state to emulate especially on developmental issues.

The Director General reaffirmed Kaduna State government’s determination towards initiating various programmes and policies for the immense benefit of the people of the State.

He however thanked the management of Kaduna State pension Bureau and the leadership of the Association for making positive contributions towards the success of the meeting.

In a remark, the Chairman Pensioners Association in Kaduna State, Mr Aboman Ladan noted that, the engagement meeting really educated their members on the process of the Health Contributory Scheme.

According to Mr Ladan such Scheme would go along way in reducing difficulties being face by their members in the area of accessing quality health care.

He gave an assurance that large numbers of their members would be enrolled.

Over one hundred members of the pensioners association attended the engagement meeting.
