Media practitioners in the country have been urged to see themselves as agents of a divine call by the Almighty God and contribute their quota to the development of humanity.
The special Adviser to Kwara state governor on strategy ,Mallam Sa’ad Salawudeen made the call while speaking a get-together , titled, Steadfastness among media practitioners: Islamic approach, organised by the Kwara state chapter of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) in Ilorin .
According to him journalism profession and roles of media practitioners are divine.
He advised media practitioners to watch their actions in their professional dealings at all times, adding that the society is the victims of whatever they push out to the public.
Mallam Salawudeen urged religious leaders to come together to preach against the menace of the rising cases of ritual killings especially among youth .
In his address the chairman, National Hijra Council of Nigeria, Professor Lanre Badmus, enjoined media practitioners to always remember consequences of their actions while performing their duties.
In his remarks, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Kwara state governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, advised media practitioners to strive to encourage brotherliness among themselves without any discrimination.
