Jigawa Pension Board Pays Over N480m To 209 Beneficiaries

Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme Board says it has paid over 483,888,000 naira to 209 retirees for the month of December, 2021.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the payment held at pension house, Dutse.

He explained that, the beneficiaries were categorized into four for the payment of their rights.

According to him, the first category include 156 retired beneficiaries who retired from the Sevice.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa noted that, the amount of over 355. million naira was for beneficiaries in that category.

He said, the second category of the beneficiaries was for 41 people that died while in service and would get the total amount of over 118 million naira.

He pointed out that, the third category of 11 beneficiaries are under the death pension balance and would get over 10 million as their entitlement.

The Executive Secretary noted that, the fourth category of beneficiaries are those who are not in service for up-to five years, the board will refund 8 percent to them amounting to 47,568 thousand as their entitlement.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu also called on the beneficiaries to avoid giving bribe to anybody in the process of collecting their benefit urging them to report any of his staff that ask them for the bribe.

The Pension Boss therefore commended Governor Badaru Abubukar for his support to the Board and prompt release of the Pensioners entitlements.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the state government and the pension boss for the gesture.
