Former Military Administrator Emerges Zamfara PDP Chairman

Former Military Administrator of Nasarawa State, Colonel Bala Mande (retd) has emerged as the elected Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Zamfara State Chapter.

Secretary of the electoral committee, sent by the National Secretariat of the PDP  to conduct the State Congress of the party Jamilu Abubakar Danbatta, said Col. Bala Mande (retd), Chairman of the caretaker committee of the party returned victorious during the Congress.

Other elected officials were; Prof Kabiru Umar Jabaka as Deputy Chairman; Faruk Ahmad Shattima as Secretary; Madina Shehu as Women Leader.

Others are; Usamatu Maharazu Talata Mafara as Treasurer; Abdulsami’u Salmanu Kwatarkwashi as Youth Leader while Abba Bello Oando returned as the Publicity Secretary of the Party.

Mr Danbatta also announced Malam Abul Mustapha, former chairman PDP Caretaker Committee, Gusau Local Government Area as the Zonal Vice Chairman, Zamfara Central; Ali Namoda Zonal Vice Chairman, Zamfara North, and Mu’azu Gwashi, Zonal Vice Chairman, Zamfara West senatorial districts respectively.

Meanwhile, the faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara State Chapter, loyal to former governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has condemned the attempt to disrupt the state congress of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by thugs.

A statement signed by Chairman, Publicity Committee of the party, Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji described the act as undemocratic.

According to him, Social Media reports alleged the attack to be perpetrated by APC thugs loyal to the sitting governor.

He, therefore, explained that the faction under its Chairman, Lawal Liman has condemned the act and called for a full-scale investigation by the Nigeria Police Force to unravel the perpetrators and sponsors of the act.
