Federal Ministry of Transportation has directed the management of the Nigeria Railway Corporation to offer free train rides to commuters plying the Abuja- Kaduna, Warri- Itakpe routes.

Others include Lagos- Ibadan, Kano- Lagos, Minna- Kaduna, and Aba- Port Harcourt routes.

In a statement by the Deputy Director, Public Relations, Mahmoud Yakubu, the free rides offered in the spirit of Christmas run from December 24, 2021, up until the 4th of January, 2022.

The statement says however that all commuters must download free tickets, which will serve as boarding passes at the train stations.

Also, all COVID 19 protocols must be adhered to by all passengers.
