Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has presented the sum of one hundred and eighty eight point five billion Naira budget for the twenty twenty two budget to the sokoto state assembly.
Presenting the budget, the Governor said the next years budget tagged budget of accomplishment and sustainable development is lower than the current budget.
He said the capital expenditure would gulp 59.7 percent while recurrent gets 40.3 percent.
Tambuwal explained that the Education sector would get the lion share with about 37.5 billion followed by Health with 28.8 billion and Agriculture 22.5billion.
It is the first time the state is meeting the African Union Target of fifteen percent budget allocation to the health sector, Agriculture twelve percent, Infrastructures ten percent with other sectors getting sixty three percent
Respoding, the speaker of the Sokoto state Assembly Alh. Aminu Muhammad Achida said the house would critically look into the budget proposal and assured the governor of speedy passage.
