Northern State Governments are indebted to the National Examinations Council NECO to the tune of two point eight billion naira.

NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi said this while announcing the release of 2021 Senior Secondary School Examination results in Minna Niger state.

Prof Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi said most of the states were owing the Council a lot of money which were yet to remitted .

He however said that despite this problem the examination body had not withheld results of defaulting states in the spirit of mutual respect togetherness and understanding.

According to him, they are engaging the affected states through dialogue towards resolving the matter amicably.

He reminded them that it is with the money NECO utilise in the payment of staff who participate in carrying out such examination in addition to buying needed materials for smooth conduct of Senoir Secondary School Examination.

Prof Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi appealed to Northern states Governor’s to as a matter of urgency meet their obligation by settling the money indebted to NECO to enable it discharge it’s duties diligently.
