Kebbi State House of Assembly has impeached the Speaker of the House, Ismaila Abdulmumuni Kamba and his Deputy Muhammad Buhari Aliro.

The Acting Clerk of the House, Ibrahim Usman Ahmed Bunzu, announced the removal of the Speaker before the flow of the House in a fifteen minutes sitting while member representing Fakai Constituency, Lawal Haruna Gele, moved a motion for the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker.

Speaking to newsmen over the impeachment, Chairman House Committee on Information and Culture, Mohammed Tukur, gives no reason for the impeachment of both the Speaker and his Deputy, but said the House wanted to effect changes.

The new Speaker is Mohammed Abubakar Lolo who was the Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman House Committee on Religious Affairs while the Deputy Speaker is Mohammed Usman who was the Chairman House Committee on Economic Planning and Due Process.
