House of Representatives say the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC can determine the electronic transmission of votes.
The House on Friday passed the Electoral Amendment Bill, after opposition lawmakers walked out during a heated session.
The Senate earlier on Thursday plunged into a rowdy session as the lawmakers contested the amendment of section 52(3) of the electoral act amendment bill.
Addressing newsmen at the National Assembly, the Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Mr Benjamin Kalu, said the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC had told lawmakers that it lacked the capacity to carry every vote cast electronically; the issue of disagreement in clause 52 sub (2) of the bill.
Kalu also submitted that what is important was to ensure every vote cast should count by being counted and recorded after the end of each voting exercise.
