The Provost, College of Agriculture and Animal Sciences Bakura , Zamfara State, Malam Mainasara Habib

Unknown Gunmen have kidnapped the Provost of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura, Mainasara Habib, and one other person, in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Confirming the abduction to Radio Nigeria in Gusau, a relative of the Provost, Malam Nasiu Mainasara, said that, the gunmen invaded the provost residence at the early hours of Sunday, took him and one other person to an undisclosed place.

He said the matter had been reported to the security agencies, but no operative so far visited the scene of the incident as at the time of this report.

Malam Nasiru also appealed to the state government and the security agencies as a matter of urgency to do everything possible to ensure the safe rescue of the provost and other abductees, as well as stem the menace.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, confirmed the incident, saying that, already the rescue team of police have been deployed to the area to ensure that the victims have been rescued safely.
